Behavioral Phenotyping
TSE Multi Conditioning System: “One System – Nine Paradigms”
This system consists of an enclosed experimental environment with high resolution IR light beams capable of detecting animal movement in three dimensions for high throughput, multi-purpose behavioral testing. Assays include:
- Fear conditioning
- Panic response
- Active avoidance
- Passive avoidance
- Learned helplessness
- Conditioned place preference
- Latent inhibition
- Light-dark test
- Open field test
Rotarod Performance Test
Motor coordination is assessed by measuring the ability of the animal to stay on a rotating horizontal rod.
Morris Water Maze
Used to measure spatial learning and memory, this test requires the animal to rely on visuo-spatial cues to find an escape platform within an open swimming area.
Metabolic Phenotyping
OxyletProTM Physiocage System
This system allows for simultaneous evaluation of up to 4 mice, individually-housed in air-tight cages with regulated air flow, to measure the following metabolic parameters:
- Respiratory metabolism: Oxygen consumption and carbon dioxide production
- Energy expenditure measured via indirect calorimetry
- Physical activity including spontaneous locomotion and rearing behavior
- Food and water intake including in-depth meal analysis
Additionally, implantable temperature probes are available for monitoring body temperature.
